L&D Program: "Culture on Course"
L&D Transformation for 735 Professionals | Service Designer & UX Researcher | 05/2023 – 12/2024
"When the brief is: 'We want to become a leader in librarian education! We don't know how, we don't know how much it will cost, and we don't know how to do it... but we want it!' you quickly realize that your job isn't to organize courses. Your job is to build the infrastructure that can actually support that vision."
The challenge
The client wanted a massive educational program for librarians but lacked the people, know-how, and system. There was a high risk that the training would end up as a mere "tick-the-box" activity without any real impact on knowledge.
My approach
Instead of just fulfilling a "wish list," I conducted a skill-gap analysis and identified actual organizational needs rather than relying on subjective estimates. Because the existing processes were too rigid, I decided to build a custom no-code infrastructure (WordPress). Through this, I delivered a high-quality user experience, ensuring high program adoption.
I analyzed the skill gaps of over 85 employees and used this data to define competency pillars.
I negotiated terms with over 50 experts and secured their integration into the system.
I built a comprehensive self-service portal and communication automation that handled over 700 registrations with minimal administrative effort.
I reallocated 25% of the budget to AI topics in response to user demand, while adhering to all grant funding rules.
Project impact
735 professionals engaged (137% goal achievement), 68 events held, and an average course quality rating of 4.8/5.
Reflection
This project was a lesson in radical self-reliance. I realized that becoming the architect of your own solutions is sometimes the only way forward. Learning new workflows on the fly is not "extra work" for me, it is the shortest path to independence and project success.
